About Shedding Light & AGG Scholarship Fund

Korina was invited by the American Glass Guild (AGG) to share her next Community Project for their 2025 exhibition at the Mesa Contemporary Art Museum located in Mesa, Arizona. Originally from Gilbert, AZ, Korina wanted to honor her roots and the location of this project by having the final piece represent a diamondback rattlesnake - an important species native to the area. This installation marks Korina’s third annual Community Collaborative Project. Over 500 artists contributed to this project, each creating a unique glass piece to form the body of the snake form. Korina provided every artist with a blank template and allowed them to bring their personal touch and style to their section. The finished work represents a beautiful blend of flat glass techniques such as copper-foiled stained glass, fused glass, and blown glass, and features additional traditional techniques such as etching, sandblasting, and painting.

This project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the limitless creativity of glass artists worldwide. It was an honor for Korina to lead all aspects of this project from ideation to fabrication, and with the help of a strong community of volunteers, close friends, and family, is deeply proud of what everyone has come together to create.

Korina is also a 2024 recipient of The AGG’s James C. Whitney Memorial Scholarship which allowed her to further her glass education by taking classes at Pilchick Glass School. This scholarship program has awarded scholarships for glass education to more than 125 recipients since its inception in 2007. After the close of its display in 2026, each individual panel from Shedding Light will be auctioned off and directly
